Linda was born in an Old Colony Mennonite settlement in Alberta, Canada where her father was a public school teacher. She attended high school at Western Mennonite School in Salem, Oregon and college at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She graduated in 1977 with a BS in International Agricultural Development/Biology.
She married Gary Meiser in 1978, and then in 1986 they went to Zambia in southern Africa with Mennonite Central Committee for three years. There they worked with the Salvation Army running a community development program. In 1988 their first daughter, Frieda was born.
After their MCC term they returned to North America and both Gary and Linda took classes at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana. Their second child, Katrina was born in 1993. Linda graduated from AMBS in May 1998 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in Christian Spirituality. She continues to work on an MDiv in Pastoral Counseling.
Linda enjoys reading, hiking and birdwatching, craft and baking projects with kids, listening to music, textile dyeing, and personality typologies.
